1. Differentiating an enchondroma from a bone infarct on plain film may be difficult. 2. *x-ray-On plain film , an enchondroma may be found in any bone formed from cartilage. 3. These cannot be determined by plain films , as the x-ray passes through the soft tissue. 4. Contrast mediums used for X-ray CT, as well as for plain film X-ray, are called radiocontrasts. 5. Plain films are no longer considered for diagnostic purpose though they are considered in some cases.6. Calcification is an unusual feature of GIST but if present can be visible on plain films . 7. On plain film the inferior aspect of the clavicle will be above the superior aspect of the acromion. 8. With cervical esophageal perforations, plain films of the neck show air in the soft tissues of the prevertebral space. 9. In those with degenerative disease of the cervical spine, a plain film series is often inadequate to assess for injury. 10. A low obstruction is suspected on plain film , but needs follow up with a gastrografin enema, which itself can be therapeutic.
